Beetroot chops Recipe | Simple Beetroot Masala Curry for Rice and chapatis

one of the other ways as in the beetroot chops recipe shown here, this could be a special dish, beetroots in
spicy coconut gravy without onions and tomatoes making it easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- Beetroot 1 chopped to small or medium size
- Coconut 1/2 cup grated
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Cloves 2 or 3
- Chilli powder 1 teaspoon or homemade sambar powder 1 teaspoon
- Garlic 5-6 cloves
- Ginger 1/2 inch
- Coriander leaves
- Curry leaves few
- Turmeric 1/4 teaspoon
- Pepper corns 1/4 teaspoon
Method
- Blend coconut, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, garlic, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves to smooth paste
- Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a pan, add chopped beetroot and curry leaves, stir for few minutes
- Add the ground paste and salt mix well, pour in required amount water – here I have added 1 cup
- Cook on medium flame with lid covered until beetroots are cooked – give a good mix in-between
Delicious beetroot chops is
ready to serve with rice or roti
How to Make with Step by Step Picture
Wash, peel and chop beetroot to small pieces – recommended to keep it
slightly medium sizes not too small
In a mixer jar add coconut, ginger, garlic, home made sambar powder - if homemade sambar powder is not available you can just go with chilli powder or (chilli powder 1 teaspoon +coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon)
Heat a pan add 2 teaspoons of oil, Once oil is
heated put curry-leaves and chopped beetroot
Sauté for two to three minute, then goes
in ground masala paste, and mix well
Mix thoroughly and close the lid, cook on medium flame for about
three to four minutes or until beetroots are cooked –occasionally give it a stir
