Sweet Coconut Chutney | Sweet Chutney & Peanut Chutney recipe
This is a very simple and easy chutney with just 3 ingredients. This is again a very traditional, prepared by great grand moms for kids, no sweets from shops were provided to kids those days … so this was a very simple dish with breakfast. This is so simple yet very tasty and nutritious food, family members with sweet tooth will definitely love this.

Jaggery and Coconut is being used in this recipe, both having their own food values. Jaggery rich in iron and also vitamin C and coconut which is rich in fibre and offers number of benefits one of them being digestion. Sweet coconut chutney is made in raw form no cooking of coconut includes, In many ways eating raw coconut is much beneficial over cooking as its full of fibre, vitamins and minerals. Ingredients for sweet coconut chutney
- Coconut – 1/4 cup
- Jaggery – 2 to 3 teaspoons or as per taste
- Cardamom – 2
And your sweet coconut chutney is ready.. no garnish required , tastes good as it is with hot idlis and ghee.
Groundnut or Peanut Chutney Recipe
This makes good accompaniment for the sweet coconut chutney.
Peanut
Chutney compliments well the idlis and the sweet coconut chutney. This is
perfect to break monotonous taste with
the sweet chutney. Peanut or Groundnut chutney also being a simple dish is easy to make along with the sweet coconut chutney. If roasted
peanut are readily stored at home then this chutney can be made in few minutes.
Peanut Chutney is spicy and tangy in taste and can be paired with roti and chapati
as well, but the best is idli and dosa, I would recommend, Give it a try today…
Peanut chutney can be made with green chillies as well, but here I have used Red chillies, garlic and tamarind to give tanginess.
Ingredients:
- Coconut – 1/4 cup
- Peanuts roasted – 1 cup
- Red chillies – 3
- Tamarind – just very little ( if it’s paste – 1/4 teaspoon)
- Garlic pods – 2
- Salt to taste
Tempering :
- oil -1/2 teaspoon
- mustard 1/4 teaspoon
- Jeera (cumin seeds) – 1/4 teaspoon
- curry leaves – few
Method:
- Grind coconut, roasted peanuts. Red chillies, Tamarind, garlic, salt with adding little water about 1/4 cup
- Heat a saucepan, add 1/2 teaspoon oil when oil gets heated add mustard, jeera and curry leaves, red chillies
- Once mustard splutters add this to the peanut chutney
Very spicy, tasty,
creamy all rolled into one chutney Peanut Chutney is ready to taste. Serve with hot idlis or dosa not to forget with delicious simple Sweet chutney and ghee.

Roast Peanuts
Grind coconut, roasted
peanuts. Red chillies, Tamarind, garlic, salt with adding little water

Take it to a bowl
Heat a saucepan, add 1/2
teaspoon oil when oil gets heated add mustard, jeera and curry leaves, red
