Raw banana Chops recipe or Balekai Chops fry is a Traditional
green spicy gravy recipe made with coconut, chillies, whole spices goes well with rice or
chapati.
Vazhakai chops as called in tamil is a very different recipe than vazhakai
varuval or balekai fry. In the dry fry recipe we use only chilli powder and
salt but this chops recipe is a unique and authentic recipe made with
coconut as base, here ginger, garlic whole spices like cloves, cinnamon,
black pepper, coriander powder, green chillies, turmeric, onion are ground
to paste and made spicy flavorful masala to get cooked with raw
banana. This makes a flavorful spicy gravy to be served with rice or chapati
or roti.
This recipe can also be prepared with Cauliflower, potatoes, drumstick or
Chicken or mutton if you are non veg lover.

Note:
- Can add even red chilli powder and green chillies together, in that case reduce green chillies accordingly
- People who are allergic to green chillies can only add red chilli powder and not green chillies
- Cut and use the raw bananas immediately or keep them in water dipped to avoid discolouration of bananas

How to make Raw Banana Chops Recipe | Balekai Chops | Vazhakai Chops with Step-by-step pictures
1. In a mixer jar, add all the ingredients in 'For Grinding' list
and grind to fine paste
2. Wash remove skin and slice the raw banana
3. Heat a pan adding 2 teaspoons of oil, Once oil heats up add
sliced raw banana
4. Fry banana well in oil until color changes to slight brown
5. Add in the ground masala and salt
6. Add water required to cook the banana
7. Once raw banana is cooked switch off the flame and serve
