Tomato bath - Learn to make Tomato rice pulao recipe -EverythingTraditional
Tomato bath or pulao - here is a staple South Indian rice item, rice is cooked in tomatoes and flavored spices in which rice absorbs all the flavor to render a soft, spicy and flavorful rice called also as tomato biriyani or thakali sadam in tamil.
Tomato bath can be a one-pot-dish, cooked in a pressure cooker, normal or jeera samba rice is cooked in all the flavorful spices that is added to that - to give a biryani taste and this can be a meal on any day or can even be made on a special occation as its simple and scrumptous one. Tomato bath is usually savored with onion raitha.
To keep tomato flavour in the centre stage, I have made this recipe as simple a the ingredients that go in this, not adding any extra veggies. But if you prefer you can add green peas, potatoes or carrots or all of them , but when you are adding veggies do not add in large quantity lest then this will not differentiate between veg biryani or pulao.
I have few more flavored rice recipes in this blog - menthya bath and ghee rice. do try them and explore new tastes. do not shy away from experimenting and bringing in your own twist to these delightful 'rice baths' When you try them this way do not forget to comment or add queries, because each one can easily bring in different taste even when given same ingredients.
Comment's talks about my recipe and your experiments, I would like to hear your experimental results.
